About The Position

The Operations Facilitator is responsible for providing oversight to a team of hourly employees in a high pace 24/7 manufacturing environment to ensure all products are completed according to work instructions/engineering specification and delivered to the customer with no defects and on-time. As the first-line manufacturing supervisor, the Operations Facilitator, will be responsible for assigning and coordinating work to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.

Requirements

High School Diploma is required, an associate degree is highly preferred
Prior Operations/Manufacturing experience is required
Must exhibits and promote companies core values and ethics principals
Must be able to work in a moderately heavy manufacturing environment
Must be able to work on a 3-day rotating 12/hour shift
Must be able to lead a team and manage/resolve employee conflict
Must be capable of effectively interfacing with a variety of internal and external customers
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
Must be able to withstand continuous periods of moving, walking, bending, stooping, keeling, twisting motion, climbing and descending stairs and ladders to perform and train individuals on most tasks
Must be mentally sharp and quick to respond
Operate a fork truck and/or pallet jack as required
Highly detail-oriented with ability to prioritize tasks independently, accurately complete work under tight deadlines, and provide timely and accurate responses to data requests
Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, SAP and ADP would be a plus
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization
Strong planning, organizational management skills
Excellent people and process management skills

Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating employee training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.
Ensures that all team members are adequately trained and clearly understand the process instructions, ensuring that the process is correctly applied in the right order; avoid taking short cuts that affect the process integrity.
Ensures employees follow proper work procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, safety rules and quantity standards.
Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
Investigates incidents and reports findings.
Leads continuous improvement initiatives to drive process improvements through the manufacturing environment.
Oversees personnel actions and most day-to-day operations of team.
Approves time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports.
Review production schedules, material and manpower resources.
Assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules and performance.
Clearly defines responsibilities and expectations for each team members.

Champions problem solving.
Acts as the focal point of communications of the team, centralizing the information related to the work.
Keeps management aware of team’s progress, needs, etc.
