The OpEx Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and support the implementation of operational excellence strategies and Lean methodologies.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the medical device or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) is highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis, using software tools such as Excel, Minitab, or similar.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring daily operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues in manufacturing processes, ensuring minimal disruption to production timelines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and support troubleshooting efforts on manufacturing equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies, such as Kaizen and 5S, to enhance production efficiency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, waste, or bottlenecks in the production process and suggest corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and rollout of improvement projects that align with Biomerics’ operational goals.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to monitor process performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports on production efficiency, quality metrics, downtime, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide actionable insights to managers and team leaders to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for employees related to operational excellence, process standards, and Lean techniques.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed, and support efforts to standardize best practices across manufacturing lines.
  • Adhere to and promote safety regulations, policies, and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support operational improvements.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with team members to communicate issues, suggest improvements, and track progress.
