About The Position

We are a growing wealth management practice seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Director to lead the operational, people, and financial functions of the firm. This role serves as a senior leader within the practice — responsible for driving operational excellence, developing team members, managing budgets, and creating scalable systems that support long-term growth. The Operations Director will partner closely with advisors and leadership to ensure the business runs efficiently while fostering a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in building structure, developing people, and overseeing complex operations in a fast-paced professional environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience required
  • Strong people management and organizational leadership skills
  • Experience overseeing operations, budgets, and business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of execution
  • Exceptional communication, accountability, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous advisor experience or background in financial services, Ameriprise, banking, insurance, or related professional industries preferred
  • Direct exposure to wealth management or financial planning environments
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, or a related field
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered in place of formal education

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient workflows and consistent execution
  • Oversee HR functions including hiring support, team development, performance management, and regular one-on-ones
  • Drive accountability, culture, and professional growth across the team
  • Manage budgeting, expense oversight, and financial operational planning
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support business growth
  • Identify and implement operational improvements, systems, and best practices
  • Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term business planning
  • Ensure professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance across operations
