About The Position

Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. As the Operations Director, Residential you will provide direction and coordination of services for the Program Supervisors and oversee daily activity of staff and ensure functions and processes are consistent and in compliance with agency and external policies and treatment models established for children in residence. As Operations Director, Residential you will have the following responsibilities: Working through leaders to ensure programs under their chain are achieving targeted outcomes/people/financial success. Monitoring data at a high level and taking necessary action around program outcomes, staff productivity, and finances Establishing and modeling a trauma informed culture and emotionally intelligent leadership, as well as driving best practices down throughout the work. Overseeing the long-term planning and strategy for their books of business in conjunction with the Program Supervisors. Communication and climate setting through leaders Ensuring leaders (and programs) have the resources they need to ensure their program(s) success Effectively selecting, coaching, assessing and developing their leaders Relationship building up, down and sideways (internally and externally) for the organization’s benefit Developing and cultivating new business opportunities for the short- and long-term benefit of the organization. Ensure direct reports work objectives tie with overall business strategy Continual Coaching and development of leaders Ensure performance assessments are utilized constructively to improve performance Effectively balance task and resources among teams What does this position offer? Starting Pay Range: $65-$75k annually

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, Mental Health, Education, or related area.
  • 5 years of direct experience in residential, mental health, and/or human services involving combination of direct service and administrative functions/roles.
  • Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • A master's degree is preferred.
