This position serves as administrative staff member in the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE). TRAINING ADMINISTRATIVE LIAISON: Responsible for tracking, processing, and maintaining all agency training records, training reports and correspondence for Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) employees. Provides highly professional training support to the OALE law enforcement training section consisting of a law enforcement captain and five law enforcement lieutenants. Advises on, and implements, quality assurance measures to ensure training records are accurate, timely, and meet or exceed applicable CFA accreditation standards. Confers with trainers and the Accreditation Manager to ensure prepared materials meet administrative, CJSTC and CFA requirements. Assists trainers with scheduling and other administrative needs including analytical problem solving of training related issues. May travel to training locations with trainers, as needed, to ensure complete and accurate documentation of remote training functions. Provides mastery-level support for the division’s Blue Peak/Skills Manager Software suite. Analyses needs and implements strategies to utilize the system’s full capacities including creation of lesson plans, training rosters and record storage. Ensures the system contains a complete and accurate accounting of all agency law enforcement training and all associated training records. Liaises with the agency’s accreditation section to ensure complete, accurate, and acceptable proofs are provided to meet reaccreditation requirements. Assists the agency Accreditation Manager during mock and reaccreditation assessments by providing additional information as needed to satisfy assessor inquiries. Assists with administration of the Field Training Officer (FTO) program. Assists with providing user training to FTOs and supervisors on the proper use of the program. Coordinates with technical personnel from Blue Peak to ensure the system is operating at peak performance. Works with technology personnel to analyze problems and formulate best use practices of the agency software. Communicates internal and external training opportunities to OALE staff. Coordinates the agency training request process by ensuring training requests for law enforcement and civilian personnel are properly routed and all signatures are captured in the approval process. Provides final notice to all necessary personnel when a request is approved or denied. Responsible for procurement of training supplies and/or purchasing of training equipment. Assists with periodic audits of training record keeping systems, training records, and related documentation. Provides insight and analysis to ensure best practices are achieved and problems are resolved timely and efficiently. ATMS: Assists with the preparation and maintenance of law enforcement training and certification records in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) Automated Training Management System (ATMS) database. Ensures all required information is provided to the ATMS database to ensure sworn officer training is properly captured to document mandatory retraining requirements. Responsible for submission of law enforcement officer CJSTC recertification documentation. Assists agency Human Resource Specialists with adding or separating sworn personnel as needed. Responsible for compiling documentation from the ATMS database for submission to the Personnel Liaison for processing Criminal Justice Incentive Pay (CJIP) for sworn officers. DOMESTIC MARIJUANA ERADICATION PROGRAM (DME): Assists with related coordination of training schools for law enforcement personnel. Coordinates with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the administration of the DME Program. Assists with collection, analysis and reporting of DME data provided by external law enforcement agencies. Prepares the agency’s annual DME Program report. Maintains current knowledge of department and OALE applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to assigned activities. Maintains current knowledge of Florida State Statutes and Florida Administrative Code on matters relating to law enforcement officer certification and career development. Assists training staff in ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and codes. Assists with collation and processing of training related Public Records Requests submitted to OALE. Queries training records systems to assist subject matter experts in retrieval of requested documents. Performs other duties as requested by command staff or training section leadership
