About The Position

The Operational Technology (OT) Security Specialist is responsible for leading and coordinating OT cybersecurity risk management across Textron’s global manufacturing, factory, and plant environments. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Operational Technology (OT), Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of OT cybersecurity principles, including network segmentation, asset visibility, remote access, and OT system hardening.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed enterprise environment and lead initiatives through influence.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage plant personnel, engineers, and executive stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, IEC 62443, or similar OT security guidance.
  • Experience chairing working groups, councils, or cross functional forums.
  • Prior involvement in cybersecurity risk assessments, incident response, or resilience planning in OT environments.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, GICSP, or equivalent) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Chair the Textron OT Working Group, setting agendas, facilitating collaboration, and driving outcomes across businesses and plants.
  • Establish and maintain OT security standards, guidelines, and reference architectures aligned with Textron cybersecurity policy and industry best practices.
  • Act as the primary point of coordination between Corporate Cybersecurity and business unit / plant OT stakeholders.
  • Lead OT cybersecurity risk assessments across factories, plants, and manufacturing environments.
  • Identify, assess, and document OT risks, including legacy systems, unsupported platforms, and operational constraints.
  • Partner with plant leadership to define pragmatic risk treatment plans that balance security, safety, and operational continuity.
  • Support enterprise risk reporting by translating OT risk into business relevant terms for executive and board level consumption.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering, controls engineers, and plant operations teams to embed security into OT system design and lifecycle management.
  • Provide security guidance for OT architectures, including network segmentation, remote access, vendor connectivity, and system hardening.
  • Advise on secure integration between IT and OT environments while minimizing operational risk.
  • Support OT related incident response, including investigation, containment, and recovery activities.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Cybersecurity, IT, and plant teams during OT security incidents or disruptions.
  • Contribute to tabletop exercises and response planning focused on OT and manufacturing scenarios.
  • Develop and mature Textron’s OT security program, including tooling, metrics, and maturity assessments.
