About The Position

Operational Learning Partner Location is flexible / Operational sites Circa £55,000 per annum We offer flexible working opportunities, which can be discussed further during the interview process. We’re looking for an Operational Learning Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping the capability, competence and future readiness of our operational teams. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll translate business strategy into high-quality learning solutions, ensuring our people have the skills, confidence and accreditation they need to operate safely, compliantly and brilliantly.

Requirements

  • Operational experience, ideally within water, utilities or a similar regulated environment
  • Experience in training, learning and development – including competency frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders
  • Experience working with external training providers and accreditation bodies
  • A solid understanding of regulatory, safety and compliance requirements
  • Project and budget management experience
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) – or the willingness to work towards it
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Experience in Leading and Motivating a team

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Licence to Operate (LTO) strategy and Competent Operator Framework for your business area
  • Designing and delivering high-quality technical and leadership development programmes
  • Managing competency assessments, development centres and professional reviews
  • Working closely with senior leaders, SMEs and external providers to ensure learning is fit for purpose, future-focused and compliant
  • Ensuring training supports our Organisational Delivery Indicators (ODIs), safety outcomes and regulatory obligations
  • Managing learning budgets effectively and delivering value for money
  • Identifying emerging risks and capability gaps, and proactively developing solutions
  • Representing Anglian Water at industry forums and with awarding and accreditation bodies
  • Acting as a role model for innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
