About The Position

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Department supports team and departmental objectives by applying continuous improvement principles, industry best practices, and a “learn, do, teach” methodology. This role also requires maintaining operational skills within a production department. Starting wage: $33.77/Hour

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to understand instructions, work procedures, reason and make judgments, problem solve, plan, coordinate, and direct own work while coping with a variety of duties and expectations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly (oral and written) with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to perform effectively under stressful conditions, prioritizing job duties while working with team members.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform occasional bending, squatting, and other physical movements required for handling tools and machine parts.
  • Good hand–eye coordination and finger dexterity for tool use and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to work in non‑weather‑related hot environments.
  • Ability to tolerate interruptions, sustained computer work, and frequent writing.
  • Self-motivated team member with a commitment to safety, desire to learn, and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Learning Management – Facilitate Internal Training & Workshops: Coordinate and lead continuous improvement training sessions and workshops.
  • Onboarding & Qualification: Manage onboarding for new associates and oversee TPO progression within respective departments during training and qualification. Provide signoffs and support for all required qualifications.
  • Document Maintenance/Management: Maintain and update training materials such as Job Aids, JSAs, One-Point Lessons (OPLs), and Troubleshooting Guides.
  • Loss Elimination – Daily problem solving (DPS) Participation and Coaching: Role is a SME in daily problem solving -> developing and executing training systems and processes for 1) identifying losses, 2) analyzing and eliminating root causes, and 3) implementing ideas.
  • Maintenance Systems/Sustaining Processes – Compliance Oversight: Monitor and report on CIL, Centerline, and QC compliance as part of OpEx Resource Leader Standard Work (LSW). Standards are defined by department management and plant leadership.
  • Maintenance Optimization: This role will also support Operational Excellence program work, as necessary.
  • Daily Operations: As part of LSW this role will attend, support, and coach during daily direction setting (DDS) meetings, both at the operator and departmental levels.
  • Implementation Task Force (ITF): Act as a key member, providing support, coaching, and active participation in ITF initiatives.
  • Tools & Process Navigation: Proficiency navigating and utilizing business systems and digital tools.
  • Leader Standard Work: Ownership and maintenance of individuals LSW.
  • New Initiative Management – Project Governance: Serve as a Project Governance Team member, providing support and coaching on best practices. May also be a participant within specific project teams.
  • Change Management: Support management of change within the department, including operational readiness.
  • DMAIC: Should have deep knowledge and understanding of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodologies.
  • Other duties – Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by department or plant leadership, including maintaining operational skills within the department. Examples may include, but are not limited to, cost management, occasional mandatory overtime shifts, enterprise learning support, process knowledge, training, etc.
