About The Position

The Operational Efficiency Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract meets required performance, compliance, and cost‑efficiency expectations. This position provides dedicated expertise in process optimization, data‑driven performance management, and continuous improvement—capabilities essential to meeting federal mandates for accountability, transparency, and measurable operational results.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain the required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire; candidate will be sent home if documentation is not provided upon arrival.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication in the English language.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience working on a government contract.

Responsibilities

  • Experience working with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) / MAXIMO highly desired.
  • Analyze operational workflows and maintenance processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement optimization strategies that reduce downtime, enhance reliability, and extend asset lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with federal standards including performance metrics, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Conduct ongoing performance monitoring using data‑driven tools to track trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and management teams to ensure alignment with contract requirements and mission objectives.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to support mission readiness.
  • Improve workforce productivity through optimized work sequencing, resource utilization, and standardized processes.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance beyond daily maintenance activities to ensure consistent adherence to contract expectations.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefings to communicate performance outcomes and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Work safely and help their teammates work safely.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
