The coordinator assesses needs for repair/replacement or preventative maintenance and coordinates schedules with in-house departments, contractors, and vendors. Additionally, the position monitors equipment performance for trends and higher-than-average failure rates. The coordinator also assists the OR Environment/Holding Area Clinical Manager with planning, organizing, scheduling workload, and making daily work assignments. This includes providing daily performance feedback to employees, giving input into performance appraisals, conducting quality inspections, participating in interviews, and supervising employee training. The role also involves inspecting the physical condition of the facility, assisting with patient preparation, transporting patients, functioning as a porter for medical supplies, information, specimens, and products, and collaborating with the Holding Area Nurse for staffing resources. The coordinator is expected to ensure safe care, adhere to policies, and promote professional growth.
