The Gas Emergency Response Center (GERC) operates a 24/7 hub for managing gas distribution emergencies reported by customers, 911 Call Centers, our internal Call Center, and employees. The GERC is primarily responsible for promptly dispatching first responders (company resources and Fire Department) to Odor Calls, Damages, CO complaints and other gas incident emergencies. The position of GERC Operating General Supervisor, also known as GERC Distribution Supervisor, is a multi-faceted role that carries significant responsibility. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and experience within the gas distribution system and will be highly self-motivated and possess demonstrated decision-making, critical thinking, and organizational skills. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan. Mission Statement: Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.
