About the Opportunity: The College of Professional Studies (CPS) at Northeastern University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track open rank Teaching Professor and Academic Lead position in the Bachelor of Science in Project Management. The position is based at our campus in Boston, MA. The Bachelor of Science in Project Management program is a GAC® (Global Accreditation Center) accredited by the Project Management Institute, Inc. Classes are offered in hybrid and online formats at the University’s Main Campus in Boston with possible future expansion in the Northeastern global campus network including Oakland, CA; Miami, FL, Charlotte, NC; and Seattle, WA. The position is a full-time, open rank, non-tenure track, renewable appointment. Responsibilities: This full-time faculty member is expected to bring their intellectual and creative capacity to serve students by participating in a range of teaching and non-teaching activities that support the advancement of the program. They will teach a full teaching load spread throughout the year and will serve as the Academic Lead of the undergraduate project management program responsible for curricula development and oversight of all major courses taught within the program. Teaching & Curricular Oversight (80% of time) Teaching and actual course load may vary with other responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to: As Academic Lead, develop and implement course learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials; includes campus-specific coursework as desired. Oversee the courses within the curriculum. Responsibilities include the selection of part-time instructors, advising on syllabi, and evaluating part-time instructor performance. Identify and provide recommendations to keep the curriculum relevant and industry-leading. Ensure regional programs meet license/accreditation requirements and participate in comprehensive regional evaluations and periodic reviews. Create modularity guidelines and recommendations for program content integration across the program and global campus network. Develop retention and community-building strategies for students within the program Service to the University (10% of time) Participating in program, college, University, and campus meetings as applicable. Serving on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University. Professional Development (10% of time) All CPS full-time faculty members must maintain currency and contribute to student learning in their field by promoting the discovery and dissemination of knowledge through scholarship/research/creative activity and/or professional development. The position is based in Boston. Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations. Faculty enjoy a collegial work environment that allows for work-life balance and are expected to be available to students as needed. The faculty member will report directly to the Academic Director for Social Sciences in the CPS undergraduate unit.
