Scope of scheduling includes all oncology and hematology medications, including but not limited to, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, non-chemotherapy infusions, injections, research trial medications and supportive care treatments such as blood transfusions, hydration, anti-emetics, etc. Ensures pre-authorization(s) and referrals are obtained and current insurance is active and up to date in electronic systems prior to scheduling. Coordinates infusion scheduling with provider visits. Responsible for verifying medical necessity prior to lab work being drawn in the infusion center. Schedules urgent infusion appointments as needed in concordance with the emergency room prevention plan. Responsible for infusion cancellations and rescheduling. Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a scheduler in a health care setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance/referrals required.
  • Competent in medical/insurance electronic systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oncology/hematology scheduling highly preferred.
