About The Position
Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Prestonsburg, KY Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: April 27, 2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 8:00a – 5:00p; 3–5 days per week (flexible schedule) COVERAGE DATES Start Date: April 27, 2026 End Date: Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult Patient Volume/Census 15 pts/day Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate Case Mix: Approximately 60% Oncology / 40% Hematology FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Meditech Office Equipment Available: Standard outpatient oncology clinic equipment Specialty Backup Available: APP support and collaborating physicians within the network Support Staff Available: APP support and clinic staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Outpatient hematology and oncology evaluation and management JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active KY medical license or willingness to obtain Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology DEA: Required Certifications: As required by the facility Experience: Recent patient -facing clinical experience required Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently as a solo provider in an outpatient setting DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematology and oncology patients Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Meditech EMR Ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow -up planning
Requirements
- Active KY medical license or willingness to obtain
- Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
- DEA: Required
- Certifications: As required by the facility
- Recent patient -facing clinical experience required
- Ability to work independently as a solo provider in an outpatient setting
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematology and oncology patients
- Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Meditech EMR
- Ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow -up planning
