About The Position

As an On-Site Service Engineer - Automation , you will be based in the vicinity of Austin, Texas , ensuring system availability both from your home office and directly at our customer's site. Your core responsibilities include: Maximizing system availability: Ensuring the highest possible uptime for our complex automated x-ray systems. Preventing interruptions : Working to ensure manufacturing processes are as continuous as possible. Proactive maintenance: Performing inspections and preventive maintenance to keep systems in top condition. Rapid response: Executing quick fault analysis and effective troubleshooting in the event of a system failure. This position requires no travels , because you will be required to service one of our customers in Austin, Texas either on customer site or from your home office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer or Control Engineering, or an Associate Degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Instrumentation & Control, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Automation or Service Engineer, with strong hands-on expertise in Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal .
  • Proven experience in PLC programming, hardware commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering and basic mechanical understanding.
  • Strong system-level thinking with the ability to understand complex technical systems; a generalist mindset rather than a pure software programmer.
  • High self-motivation, sense of responsibility, stress resilience, and a structured, solution-oriented working style.
  • Business-fluent English skills and willingness to live close to the customer site in Austin, Texas , to ensure high system availability.
  • Valid drivers license required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LabVIEW is preferred, or a strong willingness to acquire LabVIEW skills.
