The On Call Program Manager provides targeted, short-term support for CIA programs and initiatives. Working closely with the CIA Conferences team, this position assists with program planning, meeting execution, and related deliverables that ensure high-quality outcomes for in-person and virtual events. The role is designed to provide flexible support on an as-needed basis during periods of increased workload or time-sensitive program requirements.

  • Assist with the coordination of program content, including culinary and/or educational sessions.
  • Support development of agendas, talking points, and resource materials.
  • Provide project management support for program deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Conduct research and provide insights on relevant industry issues to inform programming.
  • Draft and review program communications, reports, and updates as requested.
  • Collaborate with the CIA team on meeting design and logistics.
  • Confirm details with presenters and participants, including AV, timing, and materials.
  • Prepare meeting handouts, bios, and supporting documents.
  • Act as meeting host or facilitator, including capturing notes and ensuring follow-up.
  • Support integration of demonstrations, tastings, or activations with the operations team.
  • Provide administrative and facilitation support for working groups or volunteer leadership, including scheduling, note-taking, and tracking next steps.
  • Assist with onboarding or orientation for new participants if required.
  • Contribute to engagement tools such as newsletters, member communications, or resource libraries when assigned.
  • Incorporate sponsor or partner deliverables into programming and meeting planning.
  • Provide suggestions or contacts for potential new partners or sponsors
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, environmental science, public health, communications, or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in K-12 consulting.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience with companies or organizations advancing healthy and sustainable food in K-12 or similar environments through education, research, culinary innovation, and/or community engagement.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer experience, and MS Office suite products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Collegial and positive in outlook and approach.
  • Success oriented and goal directed.
  • Ability to handle confidential issues with a high level of discretion.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong commitment to service.
  • Detail oriented and thorough.
  • Able to travel periodically to other CIA locations due to business needs.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to business needs.
  • Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Regular work requires the use of a computer, sometimes in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
  • Must be available to meet the approved travel specifications for the annual in-person meeting and follow the availability/expectations outlined by the Strategic Partnership’s team.
