About The Position

The KidZone Children’s Museum is seeking an energetic, flexible, and dependable On-Call Museum Educator & Operations Assistant to support daily museum operations, educational programming, and visitor experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and families, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is comfortable stepping into different roles as needed. On-call staff are scheduled as coverage is needed for school programs, special events, field trips, weekends, holidays, and staff absences.

Requirements

Experience working with young children, families, or the public (museum, school, childcare, camp, or customer service experience preferred)
Friendly, patient, and engaging demeanor
Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional holidays
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Reliable and punctual
Experience with early learning art and science and child development
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the museum for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Comfortable sitting on the floor and interacting at child level

Responsibilities

Visitor Experience & Front Desk Maybe trained to cover Manager on Duty role.
Welcome visitors and create a warm, engaging environment for families
Assist with admissions, memberships, and basic retail
Answer visitor questions and support positive guest experiences
Education & Programs Facilitate hands-on exhibits, art/science activities, and educational programs
Engage children through play-based learning and inquiry
Events & Rentals Support birthday parties, community events, and special programs
Assist with room setup, breakdown, and guest flow during events
Help with event preparation with other staff members.
General Support Step in to support other staff as needed
Follow museum policies and safety procedures
Communicate clearly with staff and supervisors regarding scheduling and needs
