About The Position

Signal Energy is seeking experienced OJJO Operators to support the Mechanical Scope of our solar projects across the United States. This is a field-based, hands-on position in which successful candidates play a critical role in the installation of foundation systems that support solar racking. The ideal candidate is a positive force on the jobsite, open to feedback, and eager to learn. This role requires strong safety awareness, technical equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of OJJO equipment and solar foundation installation
  • Ability to detect equipment malfunctions and alignment issues
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, pile maps, and safety documentation
  • Perform basic math for measurements, spacing, and depth calculations
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 50+ pounds of equipment and materials
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical activities including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Open to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Model high standards in safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and professionalism
  • Actively embodies Signal’s Core Principles and One Team approach
  • GED or equivalent education
  • Minimum 1 year of construction or heavy equipment experience
  • Equipment certifications as required
  • Current driver’s license of proper class and required endorsements

Nice To Haves

  • Prior OJJO or solar pile driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate OJJO hydraulic pile driving equipment for solar foundation installation
  • Perform pile driving and post installation per engineering specifications
  • Accurately align and drive posts to required depth, angle, and torque
  • Read and follow layout plans, pile schedules, and survey markings
  • Work closely with survey, mechanical, and quality teams to ensure proper placement
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation
  • Perform routine maintenance including fueling, lubricating, and cleaning
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
  • Maintain productivity targets while meeting all safety and quality standards
  • Support general mechanical scope operations as needed
  • Follow all safety regulations, jobsite rules, and equipment operating procedures
  • Provides timely documentation including production tracking and Tier Board updates
