About The Position

The Accounting and Administrative Coordinator provides accounting and administrative support to the Oregon Hazards Lab (OHAZ). This role includes a variety of important accounting duties, including reconciliation of purchasing cards, processing payments and reimbursements, entering journal vouches, as well as basic financial analysis. This role also includes general tracking and administration of projects and tasks, including management and coordination of Concur travel activities, coordination of office operations, and management of facilities requests and spaces. In addition, the Accounting and Administrative Coordinator will review and recommend improvements for office processes and workflows, and communicate policy matters to OHAZ leadership. This position works under the OHAZ Business Manager.

Requirements

  • 12 quarter hours (8 semester hours) of Accounting courses, AND
  • An Associates Degree in Accounting; OR
  • One year of experience that includes entering, compiling and/or reporting financial information; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • If meeting minimum qualifications through coursework, transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses. All courses must be from accredited colleges, universities, or private vocational schools.
  • Ability to learn fiscal policies, practices and processes, and apply these in daily work transactions.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, accounting and travel software programs.
  • High level of discretion and integrity.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to trace, document, and resolve problems using an accounting system.
  • Adaptability in an environment of change.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, solve problems, and stay organized, with keen attention to detail.
