About The Position

Grand Design RV is currently sourcing for an Offline PDI Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the final product has been thoroughly inspected, documentations are in order and ready for shipment for dealers. This role will be managing a team of people who are responsible for ensuring that the product is complete before being shipped to dealers/customers. Manage, Lead, and Direct all offline Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) activities. Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • Leadership/Management experience required, minimum of 5+ years.
  • Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Will be out in the Production floor 60-70% of the time.
  • May need to lift, push, pull between 30-60 lbs.?
  • On occasion, this role may be utilized to substitute in times of team member(s) absences.
  • Some travel may be required, 5-10% of the time.
  • Able to work early and flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

  • RVIA/RVDA certification preferred.
  • Tractor operation experience. Certification every 2 years.
  • RV build experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely, efficient, and effective movement of product through the PDI process in each plant.
  • Appoint qualified Line PDI managers to each plant and ensure they have the tools and equipment necessary to perform their daily duties.
  • Implement an efficient process/system to accurately capture defects identified in the PDI process.
  • Document and distributes unit-specific defects identified as well as unit throughput performance.
  • Participate in all weekly product audits (Offline PDI) and use results to drive process improvement.
  • Ensure the accurate weight scaling & DOT/CSA labeling of all products processed through PDI.
  • Manage the transportation of units post PDI, coordinating all movement with our Transportation department.
  • Work closely and collaborate with the Plant Managers, Product Managers, Codes & Compliance, and Quality Control/Test teams to ensure objectives are effective and met.
  • Determine and attain staffing levels and training requirements to achieve pre-delivery inspection objectives.
  • Assist with the preparation and set-up of special event units (shows, rallies, corporate displays, etc.).
  • Ensure that all PDI tools and equipment are functional, properly calibrated, and maintained.
  • Ensure that all tractors and tugs (coach and trailer haulers) are operated safely and properly maintained.
