About The Position

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Office Specialist, Option 2, in the Comprehensive Lead Education, Reduction, and Window Replacement (CLEAR Win) Program. This position performs support functions for the statewide program

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college and one (1) year of office experience or completion of high school and three (3) years of office experience or three (3) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires ability to type accurately at 30 words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, performs complex clerical and technical support functions for Comprehensive Lead Education, Reduction, and Window Replacement (CLEAR Win) Program data system. Exercises initiative and judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Works as a computer system coordinator between CLEAR Win and licensure staff and stakeholder.
  • Prepares letters, correspondence, emails, or legal documents.
  • Develops complex and multi-program (database, spreadsheet, and word processing) record reports for responses to Freedom of information requests, legal fines, daily fees, and monthly performance results.
  • Serves as supplemental support to the Division's main reception desk including opening Division's mail, answering, and routing calls from the general public to the appropriate program or sections.
  • Completes mandatory knowledge and practical training required by Office of Health Protection standard operating procedure and program requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
