About The Position

Rockwood is seeking an organized and strategic Office Operations Lead to bring consistency, efficiency, and top-notch customer service to our internal business operations. This role is central to supporting core internal operations, our CEO, and ensuring that our consultants are onboarded and supported with the tools they need to be successful throughout their tenure at Rockwood. The ideal candidate practices active listening and has deep critical thinking skills that enable them to make connections and extract key takeaways from a discussion. They are collaborative and enjoy supporting a geographically dispersed workforce and possess intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn and develop solutions. They are comfortable working in ambiguity and in a fast paced environment and understand the dynamics of supporting a small business.

Requirements

  • 15 + years in delivery operations within consulting, government contracting, or professional services.
  • Ability to work on site as needed (generally once a week) in Washington DC and be on site for in person events and meetings in the greater Washington DC area as needed.
  • Innate ability to proactively and creatively solve problems.
  • Advanced research skills demonstrating the ability to identify necessary information, identify reliable sources quickly, and synthesize information succinctly.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills to organize information into well-written clear messages and compelling documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability and confidence to converse with others on topics not previously studied in depth.
  • High proficiency in Word, Excel, presentation creation tools, and internet research tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication and coordination skills; ability to influence across departments without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist the CEO and other leadership as needed with scheduling as needed and support and arrange CEO employee engagement events.
  • Assist with planning logistics for and developing materials for company events such as All Hands meetings.
  • Oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of onboarding and marketing materials, as well as office equipment and supplies.
  • Streamline and support internal Rockwood processes.
  • Support logistics planning for meetings and events (e.g. company trainings, leadership meetings, holiday party).
  • Support other business operations activities as assigned such as expense reporting, and license management.
  • Research evolving government regulations and provide support to leadership for revision of company policies, processes, and other documents as needed.
  • Support the management of the business development pipeline as needed.
  • Support continuity of operations planning as needed.
  • Manage and enhance Rockwood's knowledge folders/document library.
  • Champion a culture of proactive planning, collaboration and internal customer service.
