About The Position

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, performs a variety of clerical, data entry, record retrieval and filing duties in support of assigned department. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists patients, visitors and other customers in person or via the telephone system.May perform data entry regarding admissions, discharges and transfers according to established procedures.May type correspondence or other documents to support department needs.Provide telephone support for department areas area when required. Take and relay messages and give limited factual information. May operate a single or multi-line telephone. Answer telephone responding to routine questions and requests, referring other requests to appropriate personnel or record message. File all records in the appropriate location.Book appointments for patients or maintain supervisor calendar.Assist department clerical staff in various duties to avoid backlogs.Perform other related clerical duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Equivalent to completion of high school. Keyboard and data entry knowledge required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.EXPERIENCE:Three months of on the job experience in the office environment.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Patient care environment; hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety precautions. Requirements
