About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a detailed oriented person to serve as an Office Associate at the Graham Correctional Center. In this position you will perform a variety of clerical duties, prepares memos, correspondence, and reports including legal, psychological/medical terminology applying understanding of terms to ensure clarity and accuracy. In addition, this position serves as Liaison between Reception & Classification and Transfer Coordinators Office and tracks and maintains data associated with the Reception and Classification Unit. The ideal candidate would be a self -motivated, task oriented, organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply!

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Keyboards and prepares memos, correspondence, and reports including legal, psychological/medical terminology applying understanding of terms to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Verifies accuracy of all Clinical Reception and Classification records.
  • Serves as Liaison between Reception & Classification and Transfer Coordinators Office.
  • Tracks and maintains data associated with the Reception and Classification Unit.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
