The Office Assistant, as part of the substance use disorder treatment team, is responsible for developing respectful, professional relationships with clients that assist them in being successful in their journey to recovery. The office assistant provides excellent customer service for patients at the front desk and/or over the phone. The office assistant schedules appointments, greets and checks in patients, receives payments, collects patient demographic and assessment information, confirms patient income and eligibility for insurance and other health care programs, directs patients and visitors, conducts drug test urinalysis, performs clerical duties, and provides transportation. The office assistant works in a fast-paced environment and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
