Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires one year of related office experience.
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a tax compliance and fingerprint-based background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
  • This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to push and pull shred bins weighing up to 300 pounds unassisted and up to 800 pounds assisted.
  • Requires the ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience working in a mailroom setting sorting and routing mail from and to multiple locations inside and outside the work location.
  • One (1) year of experience working with alpha-numeric sequencing.
  • Two (2) years of experience operating commonly used manual and automated office equipment in a work/office environment.
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
  • One (1) year of experience working with mail slitters, inserters, and postage machines.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, transports taxpayer records and supporting documents, correspondence, print-out sheets and other materials in accordance with established procedures to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and security.
  • Answers non-technical questions regarding types of forms needed for various types of taxes from taxpayers both in person and over the phone.
  • Serves as the back-up to the Shred Services.
  • Maintains routine logs.
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports showing total number of requests and packages received and sent.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
