About The Position

SUMMARY Founded in 1999, Norcon is a Chicago-based General Contractor that manages the construction of simple to complex commercial projects as well as high-end residential projects. As a result, we are growing and looking to add a talented Office Assistant to our dynamic firm. As an Office Assistant, you will play an important role, in providing support to our staff and ensuring all daily procedures run smoothly. Additionally, you will serve as Employee Engagement Coordinator, participating in the Social Committee and leading the planning and execution of company group activities and events that foster a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture. This position requires working onsite at the Norcon office

Requirements

  • Must be able to work from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and punctual
  • 2+ years of experience working in a professional setting in an administrative support role
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct office visitors
  • Manage inbound phone traffic, including internal routing
  • Manage all inbound and outbound mail and package deliveries
  • Ensure company and client contact information is accurate and circulated
  • Assist with new employee onboarding activities
  • Manage all aspects of office inventory including procurement and stocking
  • Troubleshoot conference room technology issues
  • Assist with all aspects of digital and physical record-keeping
  • Work with office and field teams to ensure supplier invoice is coded correctly
  • Performance project coordination tasks, including COI and vendor information management, system user access/logins, and other tasks as assigned
  • Serve as the Employee Engagement Coordinator by:
  • Participating in Norcon’s Social Committee
  • Organizing group activities, events, team building and wellness initiatives, and celebrations that align with Norcon’s values
  • Other projects as assigned
