About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Assistant to work in the Clinical Services Unit at Western Illinois Correctional Center. This position is responsible for keyboarding a variety of documents and serves as a co-receptionist for the Clinical Services staff. In addition, they will input data into the Offender 360 System (O360), receive, sort, open and distribute mail, and file office records, personnel information and correspondence. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 wpm.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vacine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Keyboards, from rough draft, parole reports, executive clemencies, work release, home monitor and transfer reports, letters, memos, etc. for the Clinical Services Unit.
  • Serves as a co-receptionist for the Clinical Services staff.
  • Inputs data into the Offender 360 System (O360) from reports completed by the Clinical Services staff.
  • Receives, sorts, opens, and distributes mail for Clinical Services Unit.
  • Files office records, personnel information, and correspondence to assist the Clinical Services staff.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
