About The Position

The Office Assistant in Academic Affairs serves as a primary contact for busy front desk services. This will require that the successful candidate provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality of records and information. The work-study student will provide support to the Academic Affairs Department which includes Academic Affairs Office, Adult Education, and Learning Resource Center. Duties include: Answer office telephone, route calls, take messages, and provide general information and public service assistance to customers. Establish, maintain, process, and/or update file documents for scanning and archiving. Processes new LRC materials, performs collection maintenance (inventory, shifting, weeding), and special projects as assigned. Checkout materials to customers. Perform a variety of data entry assignments and understand the organization of data in order to provide basic information. Operate personal computer to draft correspondence, print and mail letters, reports, or other materials as requested. Open and route incoming mail; distribute correspondence and other material to department staff and faculty. Perform other duties as assigned
