About The Position

The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (AVCAA) serves as a senior strategic and operational leader within Academic Affairs, working in close partnership with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA). The AVCAA provides leadership across a broad spectrum of initiatives that support the effective operation, growth, and strategic alignment of academic programs. This role focuses on translating institutional priorities into operational execution across Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include coordination of workforce partnerships, academic grant initiatives, facilities and capital planning related to academic programs, and cross-school collaboration to strengthen Ivy Tech’s impact across education, workforce development, and regional economic growth. The AVCAA also serves as a key advisor to the VCAA on institutional strategy, emerging opportunities, and implementation of major academic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, industry partnerships, or workforce development
  • Experience managing complex institutional initiatives
  • Experience working with external partners, grants, or program development initiatives
  • Strong organizational leadership and strategic planning skills
  • The incoming employee must hold a valid Indiana driver's license and complete the Driver Approval Form to obtain authorization from the Systems Office for operating any College-owned, leased, or rented vehicles as part of their job responsibilities.
