You will be responsible for providing consistent quality customer service, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and managing essential administrative tasks such as patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification, all while adhering to county policies and workflows. Requirements

  • Education/ training equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must pass a reference check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors; greet clients and visitors at the front desk.
  • Provide information regarding the clinic and other resources; refer to other information services as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and visitors and clinical staff, relaying information appropriately about patient needs such as walk-ins, prescription pick-ups, etc.
  • Follow up on client concerns if any complaints are known, taking action or referring to the appropriate source.
  • Obtain and/or verify demographic information and insurance coverage utilizing appropriate databases; update registration and accounts; enter information into Epic.
  • Resolve insurance issues as they arise and notify supervisors as needed; collect co-pays, fees, and payments on account balances following established cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Issue bus tickets or other cash equivalents as requested by staff; document according to policy.
  • Request interpreters as necessary; write accurate and complete notes for reasons for patient appointments.
  • Receive, review, prepare, and distribute incoming correspondence such as medical records, prescription requests, orders, etc.; and route to the appropriate medical staff for review.
  • Assist medical staff with faxing as needed--such as medical records to other providers for referrals or emergency services for patients--as well as assisting with the processing of consents, release of information and other documentation necessary for patient care.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues; report necessary repairs to the supervisor and/or appropriate department; track and prepare AR equipment for meetings and accurately document meeting notes.
  • Run and manage various reports and work queues both in and out of Epic.
