About The Position

The School-Based Occupational Therapist provides in-person occupational therapy services to students in a K–8 educational setting. The therapist collaborates with educators, administrators, and families to support students’ functional, academic, and developmental needs in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and applicable educational regulations.

Requirements

  • Active Washington State Occupational Therapist license (required)
  • Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification (required)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K–8 students in a school environment
  • Evaluate students’ fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support classroom-based interventions
  • Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and strategies to enhance student participation
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed
  • Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and educational standards
