Now Hiring: Occupational Therapist-School Setting The Occupational Therapist will work in a school setting, providing therapy services to children with disabilities and developmental disorders.

Requirements

  • To be successful in this role, the Occupational Therapist will need to have strong communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, and have a deep understanding of the developmental needs of children with disabilities.
  • The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, with licensure and/or certification required in the state of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting evaluations and assessments of children with disabilities, identifying their unique needs and developing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Developing personalized treatment plans to address the physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges that children face in their daily lives.
  • Providing individual and group therapy sessions, guiding children through exercises and activities that enhance their coordination, motor skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates the diverse needs of each child.
  • Incorporating assistive technology and adaptive equipment into treatment plans as needed, ensuring that children have the tools and resources they need to succeed.
  • Tracking and documenting the progress of each child, assessing their progress towards achieving treatment goals and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development activities, staying up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field of occupational therapy.
