Occupational Therapy Assistants at Child Inspired work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary practice model to empower kids, parents and families with individualized, therapeutic support tailored to each child and family’s unique abilities and needs. Occupational Therapy Assistants address the therapeutic needs of children with a variety of medical, developmental, and social-emotional conditions to enhance their function and independence during daily activities performed at home, school, and throughout the community.

Requirements

  • Active State of DE Occupational Therapy Assistant License
  • Active NBCOT Certification
  • Proof of drivers license and active vehicle insurance policy
  • Compliance with State of DE Mandatory Reporting and Chaperone Laws
  • Participation in continuing education coursework in alignment with area of practice and licensure requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Implement interventions for children, youth, and young adults referred with autism, inattention, developmental delays, physical disability, functional deficits, and emotional/behavioral challenges.
  • Actively collaborate with OTR to assist in the determination of strengths or needs in the areas sensory processing and sensory modulation and implement interventions and strategies that promote function within child/family’s environmental contexts.
  • Implement interventions to improve fine motor coordination skills related to the child’s participation in learning and daily self-help activities.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, which includes family members, pediatricians, and/or other pediatric professionals.
  • Provide education to caregivers on home recommendations, training, and coaching to enhance skill development (both of child & caregiver).
  • Identify opportunities/needs for program improvement and seek appropriate guidance for implementing change.
  • Provide therapeutic services to children and families within a multi-context practice model, including clinic, client's home, community, and/or school settings (detailed per position).
