Core responsibilities Own environmental, health, safety, and security programs compliant with federal, state, and local requirements. Create role-specific EH&S training curricula; deliver training where credentialed and coordinate external providers as needed. Execute site inspections and comprehensive audit programs that identify hazards, report findings, and track closure. Partner with management to design corrective actions and report gaps in execution. Implement safety hazard assessments; assign four-point risk ratings for each position; audit to ensure compliance with risk controls. Establish incident and near-miss reporting; lead investigations and corrective action planning. Coordinate safety orientation and on-the-job training for temporary workers and external contractors; ensure records are current. Lead site security practices (e.g., clear bag policy, random checks) and maintain relationships with external security agencies. Act as HAZMAT and DOT compliance specialist for hazardous waste transport and disposal; audit program performance. Develop and distribute safety and HR metrics; recommend improvements to strengthen safety and HR performance. Promote a safety-first culture through targeted initiatives and an incentive program that rewards outcomes. Manage the safety budget, control spend, and approve invoices. Recruit, train, coach, and manage team members; set goals and deliver performance feedback. Complete performance evaluations; prepare budget inputs; write and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions; submit BWC, OSHA, and other government reports. Maintain confidentiality of injury records, audit results, complaints, and sensitive information. Demonstrate reliable attendance; support off-shifts as business needs require; perform other duties as assigned.
