Provide expert guidance on injury prevention and health management. 6 month Fixed Term contract with the possibility of extension About the Role Reporting directly to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality , you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our occupational health framework. As a senior leader, you’ll drive key health management capabilities including injury management, return‑to‑work planning, fitness for work assessments, psychosocial hazard mitigation, and risk management. You’ll lead, coach, and mentor the Occupational Health Team, fostering a culture of excellence and care. Your expertise will empower our teams to: Manage injuries effectively and support safe, timely return‑to‑work outcomes. Conduct fitness assessments and ensure readiness across the workforce. Identify and mitigate psychosocial hazards, strengthening resilience and wellbeing. Provide guidance to staff and managers navigating health challenges. In addition, you’ll contribute to Babcock’s broader HSEQ strategy through health monitoring programs, ergonomic assessments, and medical evaluations — ensuring our people remain safe, supported, and able to perform at their best. About you You bring a strong foundation in occupational health and safety, backed by both qualifications and hands‑on experience. Ideally, you will have: A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Sport Science, or a related discipline. Experience in injury management and workplace health and safety within a similar industry. Certificate IV in Safety or practical experience in workplace hygiene. Importantly, you also possess: In‑depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in injury management. A current First Aid Certificate. A strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles. You will also be an Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
