We are looking for a NYC Violation Compliance Coordinator/Specialist to play a critical role in supporting New York City (NYC) Violation, Local Law, and NSPIRE compliance. This administrative position is perfect for someone who excels at organization, results oriented, and collaborates across teams. As a NYC Violation Compliance Coordinator/Specialist, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, agencies, vendors, and external partners to oversee compliance with NYC Local Laws and other facilities requirements. The position reports to the Director of Facilities. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in NYC building violation removal, property compliance, or as a Community Manager.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel and Word) and experience with SiteCompli (preferred).
  • An understanding of NYC agency compliance and NYC compliance portals (DOB, DEP, HPD and other NYC agencies).
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in property management, administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive issues professionally.
  • Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and approaching challenges with grit, resilience, and proactive problem-solving, while continuously engaging in learning and development to enhance performance; fosters collaboration and a resident-centered environment, ensuring empathy, respect, and cross-functional success in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date SiteCompli data/ logs of all open violations (DOB, HPD, ECB/OATH, FDNY, DOHMH).
  • Coordinate with Community Managers, Facilities Manager, to assure necessary repairs and remediation are completed by vendors, consultants, professional service providers, and expediters identified by Facilities to remove all violations of record timely and with minimal financial impact.
  • Prepare and submit Certificates of Correction, affidavits, and dismissal requests through NYC agency portals (DOB, DEP, HPD and other NYC agencies).
  • Prepare for, attend online hearings, and manage documentation to vacate defaulted hearings.
  • Using SiteCompli reporting tools, distribute regularly scheduled violation reports for Operations and Executives regarding property compliance metrics.
  • Function as the primary liaison with city agencies, expeditors, and vendors.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities to ensure compliance with mandatory NYC Local Laws (e.g., Local Law 11, 152, Parapet observation, etc.).
  • Monitor, track and coordinate annual safety compliance requirements (ex: Annual safety notices, Fire Safety notices, window guards, stove knob covers, bed bug reporting).
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure properties are adhering to HPD inspection requirements (ex: HPD inspection checklist, common area signage, Housing information guides, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Community Managers to receive work orders from NSPIRE inspections to upload them to the NSPIRE portal.
  • Fearlessly advocate and raise issues up the supervisory organization chart as needed to assure Related’s reputation as an exceptional affordable housing provider is supported by our compliance with NYC facilities requirements.
  • Provide support in other Facilities and Operations requests.
