Independent Contractor Job Opportunity FLIPANY is seeking a Nutrition Educator to work directly with youth in the community. The Nutrition Educator will teach nutrition and cooking classes at partner locations, including schools, community centers, and other community spaces. The ideal Nutrition Educator is excited about encouraging and supporting healthy lifestyles for youth and families while demonstrating strong and positive class management of groups of youth. Assignments and Compensation: Typical class hours are Monday–Friday afternoons between 2pm and 6pm, with some day classes at certain sites. Weekend assignments for special events may also be available. FLIPANY provides curriculum content and class material. Contractors are compensated $30.00 per hour for each 1-hour class delivered.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience working with children.
  • Education or experience in child development/behavior, psychology, or other social sciences.
  • Ability to deliver classes to a group of 15-20 participants
  • Ability to implement curriculum outlined for the program with proven results.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 / Teams platform
  • General understanding of physical activity standards for youth
  • Excellent ‘classroom management’ and ability to work with behavioral issues among youth populations.
