About The Position

The Nutrition Care Associate performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position encompasses roles such as patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning, with specific duties varying by facility need. It is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, with a work schedule of Sunday-Thursday from 12:00pm to 8:30pm. The hourly pay rate is based on experience, ranging from $17.25 to $22.43. The role is located at Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Intermountain Health is a nonprofit system comprising 34 hospitals, over 400 clinics, a medical group with more than 4,800 employed physicians and advanced care providers, and a health plan division (Select Health) serving over one million members.   • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work.
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment.
  • Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process.
  • Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (following standard recipe, assembling ingredients) for example, prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.
  • Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g. dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels).
  • Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods).
  • Performs accurate cash/credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues.
