About The Position

Wilkes University invites applicants for an open Nutrition and Wellness teaching position in the Upward Bound program. Upward Bound is a federally funded Trio program, which provides support to high school students in career exploration and their preparation for college; ultimately, in their higher education pursuits. The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the academic component of the program by means of experiential and play-based learning. The ideal candidate will enhance students' nutritional knowledge, SEL, and physical knowledge/activity/practices by challenging them to use critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills, as well as other workplace readiness skills. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Health & Wellness, or a related field is required. Please note that this is only a part-time, temporary position with a competitive hourly wage. Dates run from June 22nd through July 31st, and classes are held twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays (1:15 P.M. – 2:30 P.M.). To apply, visit https://wilkesuniversitycareers.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
