About The Position

The Nursing Program maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary, part-time teaching positions in either the RN-to-BSN or MSN programs. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer quarter, applications are accepted continuously for non-tenure track teaching positions. Positions in the rank of Instructor may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis. Courses are face to face hybrid and online instruction; Clinical Practice Experience Instructors may travel to practice partner sites.

Requirements

  • Degree requirements for RN-BSN (1) Have a minimum of a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education or (2) A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education and a graduate degree in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Degree requirements for MSN: For graduate nursing programs preparing nurses in advanced degrees, nursing faculty teaching nursing must meet the following qualifications: (1) A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education and is at or above the program level being taught; or a bachelor's degree in nursing from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accrediting body and graduate degree in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university; and (2) Demonstrated specialization, expertise, or preparation and experience for the courses being taught.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate in nursing, education or health related field with at least one graduate degree in nursing (masters or doctorate)
  • Successful teaching experience in higher education
