About The Position

Up to $15,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months. Job Summary: The Clinical Manager has overall responsibility for operational and clinical management of the Emergency Department and Off Campus Emergency Department including, but not limited to, staffing/scheduling, department specific education, orientation and on boarding, performance evaluations and policy development. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Complying with Tenet policies; Implementing and revising department throughput/patient flow, core measures and promoting collaboration with ancillary departments; Maintaining/facilitating communication between the inpatient departments, physicians and ancillary departments on a regular basis regarding care and quality issues; Analyzing reports: LOS, avoidable days, disputes and associated Emergency Department metrics; Implementing and ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations relating to the functioning of the Emergency Department and Off Campus Emergency Department; All other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, related field or equivalent competencies/job experience
  • EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in clinical related specialty; one-year supervisory or management experience, working knowledge of Quality Improvement process and Joint Commission standards.
  • CERTIFICATIONS: Florida RN license, AHA BLS, ACLS, & PALS required.
  • TNCC & ENPC required within 18 months of hire.
  • Managerial experience - able to relate to a large variety of individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, Management or related field, or demonstrated equivalent competencies preferred
  • CEN preferred.
  • National certification in area of specialty (CEN) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Manager is responsible to Administrative Nursing Director and assists in the management of a defined area of organized nursing services.
  • Nurse Managers allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, and compassionate nursing care, provide input into executive-level decisions, and keep staff informed of executive-level activities.
  • Clinical Manager coordinate activities between defined areas and provide clinical and administrative leadership, and expertise.
  • They facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others.
  • They serve as a link between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization.
  • Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the Nurse Manager.
  • Coordinates nursing services with the services of other health care disciplines.
  • Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel.
  • Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel.
  • Evaluates performance of personnel.
  • Fosters a climate conducive to educational experiences for nursing and students.
  • Fosters peer review.
  • Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care.
  • Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision making.
  • Facilitates participation of staff in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision making.
  • Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients.
  • Assures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for personnel.
  • Participates in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel.
  • Participates in planning and monitoring the budget for their defined area(s).
  • Participates and involves the nursing staff in evaluative research activities.
