The Specialty Care Center is a multispecialty group practice within the hospital, promoting the optimal care of adults and children with lifelong neurological and neuromuscular conditions, along with various other programs and services designed to provide quality healthcare and assistance to those living with various complex medical conditions. Service areas include: Orthopedics, Muscular dystrophy, Neurology including treatment of spasticity and Parkinson's Disease, Bariatrics, Suboxone (follow-up alcohol and drug rehabilitation), Pediatric development, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology and Concussion management. Job Details This Nursing Care Coordinator/ Nurse Manager will assume 24 hour responsibility for coordination and delivery of nursing care services for the Specialty Care Clinic.

Requirements

  • Passion for leadership and nursing
  • 5+ Years of acute care nursing (RN) experience required
  • 1+ Years Nursing Leadership/Management experience preferred
  • Regulatory knowledge
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree - must be currently enrolled or have completed MSN
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, supervise, and evaluate the team to reach their full potential and inspire continual professional growth
  • Manage, lead, and support the staff members of the unit, promoting safe nursing practice and intervening as needed
  • Serve as a clinical and technical resource and role model for staff, applying knowledge to daily practice
  • Participate in managing budgets, resource allocation, and scheduling
  • Regularly assess unit operations and identify process improvements to enhance the patient experience
