About The Position

The Marion VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to join the Community Living Center (CLC) within Nursing Service, located in Marion, IL. The CLC Nurse Assistant plays a critical role in providing care to veterans with complex needs, ensuring personal care, assisting LPN and RN staff assigned to the CLC in obtaining vital signs, accu-check results, providing ADL care, and contributing to MDS assessments through documentation in the Caribou care system capturing level of care/assistance providing for veteran in short stay rehab or skilled needs admission, long-term care admission and in the hospice care neighborhood. The nurse assistant is a backbone position essential in providing for veteran care, building relationships with the veteran and identifying early changes which are reported up through the team for evaluation by LPN/RN/Providers during routine care provision. This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital. The incumbent may be required to rotate tours and duties during low/high census or complete administrative tasks established by the immediate supervisor. PLEASE NOTE: These positions require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. If selected, Applicants will provide proof of current certifications prior to employment. Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ACLS certification obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.

Requirements

Responsibilities
