Learn more at https://www.dignityhealth.org/central-california/locations/mercy-bakersfield.#bakersfieldRN Job Summary and Responsibilities The Nurse Shift Manager (NSM) is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective department(s)/unit(s). The Nurse Shift Manager (NSM) will continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of patient care practices and care delivery. Promotes staffing compliance and insures safe staffing assignments. Monitors staffing to achieve productivity and budget standards. The NSM performs within the scope and standards of practice set for the by the American Nurses Association and any professional organizations specific to specialty to guide practice and standards within the work place. The NSM with the ability to hire, coach, counsel, evaluate, discipline and terminate others. The NSM has the responsibility and authority to assign work, duties and responsibilities, to direct staff, and exercise independent judgment.

Requirements

  • CA RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association
  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
  • Associates Of Science in Nursing
