The Clinical Nurse Professional Development Educator (NPD) works collaboratively to assess, identify, plan, implement, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate educational activities through a systems model, based on the Association of Nurse Professional Development (ANPD) Practice Model. This role involves using expertise in education and professional development practices to collaborate with staff, leadership, faculty, and researchers to implement and evaluate professional development programs. These programs aim to influence professional role competence, continuous learning and growth, promote synergistic practices and patient outcomes, and advance NPD practice in accordance with Wellstar's Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANPD Scope and Standards. Key roles include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions. The Clinical NPD Educator supports the Clinical Nursing Professional Development Educator Specialist, clinical manager, and interprofessional team in implementing, documenting, and modifying evidence-based, quality, and educational programs for nursing and non-licensed staff. They also support patient care as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care for patients, families, and significant others. All NPD Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, and implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards by the American Nurses Association. The individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.
