About The Position

This opportunity is for an Advanced Practice Practitioner who shares the mission of making life better for others. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating Legacy Clinic patients to ensure proper care and support. The practitioner will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, offering compassion and thoughtful insights in patient treatment. The position works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment for both chronic and episodic disorders. The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) is assigned principal responsibility for the primary health care of patients under professional medical direction from physicians. The APP is expected to seek expert opinion or advice from a physician if a case falls outside the authorized scope. The APP plans and implements health care goals for patients, which are reviewed and confirmed by a physician. The APP typically remains responsible for the patient throughout treatment, providing examination, diagnosis, and the health care plan, determining recovery, and releasing the patient. The APP may refer patients to physicians for consultation or specialized health resources but retains responsibility for clinical management and subsequent modifications.

Requirements

  • Education as required by licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Current applicable state RN license required.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate (PA) required.
  • Applicable state license as a Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner w/Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders.
  • Assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients under professional medical direction from physicians.
  • Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol.
  • Plans and implements, and a physician reviews and confirms, health care goals for patients.
  • Typically remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient.
  • May refer the patient to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification.
