About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care within the High-Risk Breast Program. This Advanced Practice Provider role involves delivering comprehensive, coordinated care for patients at elevated risk for breast cancer, focusing on risk assessment, genetic counseling coordination, evidence-based surveillance, and risk-reduction strategies. The APP will collaborate closely with breast surgery, oncology, genetics, radiology, and primary care to ensure timely evaluation, continuity of care, and patient education. The position aims to enhance access, support early detection and prevention efforts, and optimize program capacity and patient outcomes. The provider is also responsible for ensuring compliance with standards of care and practice, requesting timely consultations or referrals, and demonstrating expertise in utilizing electronic health records. The qualified candidate should possess comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting, while maintaining a collaborative approach with team members and surgeons to achieve high-quality clinical outcomes and exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • For Physician Assistant (PA): Successful completion of PA Graduate Program and NCCPA certification (PA-C)
  • A strong medical background
  • A desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group
  • Ability to obtain an Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program
  • Evidence of comprehensive assessment skills
  • Expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care
  • Ability to independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Exceptional clinical skills
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach in working with the other team members

Responsibilities

  • Request timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated

  • Independently manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach in working with other team members
  • Work in harmony with the surgeons to ensure the highest quality clinical outcomes while providing exceptional patient experience
