Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Gastroenterology

About The Position

This is an outpatient position in which the nurse practitioner or physician assistant will specialize in general gastroenterology work in collaboration with physicians.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- manage chronic illness as part of a preventative maintenance program
- educate patients and families on GI condition prevention and maintenance
- obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and reasons for visits
- conduct physical exams and evaluate patients
- order laboratory examinations and tests; interpret results
- prescribe medications
- collaborate with other clinicians and staff to ensure continuity of care
- attend staff educational programs and meetings

A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon types of appointments scheduled and patient needs.

All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.

The practice uses the Epic EHR.

Requirements

• New York NP or PA license
• DEA
• 1+ year of gastroenterology experience
