Refuge for Women is a non-profit, faith-based organization providing specialized care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. With multiple locations across the U.S., Refuge for Women offers safe housing, at no charge to the resident, with around-the-clock care as clients progress through evidence-based, trauma-informed programming. The compassionate staff is trained to help residents work through the program to reclaim their identities and reach their goals to overcome addictions, heal from trauma and develop life skills leading to healthy, balanced living and financial independence. Position Overview: The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents as they go through the healing process at our Emergency House location. Your team contribution: The Nurse Manager is an integral part of the Treatment Team at the Emergency House. They work alongside the Program Director and in coordination with the resident’s medical providers to ensure that our residents are following physician's orders and prescription instructions. In addition, they oversee medication procedures and training at the home as well as You’ll be successful if: You desire to use your medical training as an avenue to truly impact the lives of women - in more ways than just their physical well-being. You desire to be a part of a team that is working in coordination to provide physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing to women with trauma and exploitation in their history.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which is related to work as a member of a treatment team.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including Word, Excel and Google email and applications
  • Strong project management, servant leadership and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated, organized
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities and handle crisis situations
  • Active license as an RN in Kentucky

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience as a Nurse Manager preferred
  • Substance use and knowledge of trauma experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Nursing Assessments and monitoring of clients
  • Responsible for reviewing the med logs for accuracy
  • Responsible for reviewing all medications
  • Member of the Treatment Team.
  • Handles the medication management; trains staff on medication handling.
  • Ensures universal precautions of the program
  • Facilitates health education groups
  • Observe and assess clients for clinical signs and symptoms and follow the prescribed course of treatment.
  • Determines and implements specific protocol as designated by the Doctor.
  • The Nurse is expected to protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with Refuge for Women’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and residents alike.
  • Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.
  • Ability to interact with a multidisciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.
  • Have the ability to communicate with the Case Manager, Therapist, and other program staff and assist in ensuring the safety of the client.
